Established in 2010 and consolidated in its present form in 2013, Underdogs works with a diversified roster of Portuguese and international artists connected with the urban inspired contemporary art universe, fostering the development of close relationships between creators, the public, and the city with the aim of promoting art as an everyday experience.

Following the "Temple of Sound" intervention by visual artist AkaCorleone for the first edition of the MEO Kalorama festival, materialised through a large canvas that covered the entire façade of the main stage of the venue in Parque da Bela Vista, Lisbon, Underdogs took on the curatorship and development of the "Creative Upcycling Workshop".
Headed by Raquel Belli and developed in partnership with the Chelas é o Sítio association and CERCI Lisboa, the workshop gave a new life to this canvas, artistically reusing it for the conception of creative outputs that mirrored the festival's values and identity.
Transmitting the traditional artisanal techniques the artist uses in her work, the workshop guided members of these institutions in the creation of artistic editions, which were then integrated in exclusive Early Bird ticket packs for the next edition of the festival, scheduled for 2023.
