CAZZO!
This presentation is an exclamation, the beginning of change. The affirmation of a time to say enough is enough, both in our interpersonal relationships as well as in regards to the socio-political situation we are currently experiencing.
This body of work is a reflection, an open question by the artist directed towards himself and the public: when is the right time to say CAZZO! (the Italian word for "fuck"), leaving our patience aside in order to effectively create change?
We are moving from an ecosystem to an ego-system, where humanity rules over the planet and has become directly responsible for altering the stabilizing function of nature, attributing greater importance to material possessions than to the preservation of the planet.
Many of the artworks in this exhibition are based on the contrast between technology and waste, questioning why we exploit and treat the planet as something disposable. This work questions whether technology is a tool to hypnotize ourselves, entertaining our eyes and rendering us blind towards climate change and the (d)evolution of society, or a tool for progress.
Are we truly free if we cannot endure an entire day without looking at the display of our smartphones? Does this liken us to robotic culture clones? Everything around us increasingly suggests that it is time to say CAZZO! and move towards a better future for all.
