Established in 2010 and consolidated in its present form in 2013, Underdogs works with a diversified roster of Portuguese and international artists connected with the urban inspired contemporary art universe, fostering the development of close relationships between creators, the public, and the city with the aim of promoting art as an everyday experience.
"Arquivo" reveals editions by more than 100 artists and art collectives from all over the world, providing a rare glimpse into the evolution of Underdogs' work and the broad spectrum of its creative direction.
Curated by Underdogs founders Alexandre Farto aka Vhils and Pauline Foessel, this profuse collection evidences the plurality and unique nature of these editions, emphasizing the diversity of techniques, mediums and approaches used in their creation. Each one echoes the creative essence of the artist, representing a vision come to life and made possible through the best production and manufacturing practices available both in Portugal and internationally.
"Arquivo" is also an exemplification of Underdogs mission to invest in both emerging and established artists, promoting symbiotic relationships between national and international cultural production by providing fertile ground and opportunities for artistic development and growth.
