Athena was a celebrated divinity of Graeco-Roman mythology, a goddess of wisdom, warfare, and handicraft, and a protector of various cities across ancient Greece. In this sculpture, the Spanish duo PichiAvo extols the powerful torso of the goddess, widely depicted in the history of art and generally represented wearing a helmet. As is usual in their practice, PichiAvo blends the harmony of classical art and the rebelliousness of graffiti, resulting in this remarkable aesthetic. In this piece, the image of Athena is carved manually in ceramics, glorifying her protection over the arts and artisans.
